The Gathered Journal: Cover Edition: Fri 24 July

A mixed media workshop, building your journal cover and beginning your pages from vintage papers and found ephemera.

In this hands-on workshop, we'll explore the gentle art of junk journaling as you learn to build a journal entirely from scratch, beginning with its cover and the foundations of its pages.

Together, we'll work with mixed media and a curated mix of papers, including vintage and ephemera pieces, layering and folding to create a sturdy, beautiful cover and a set of basic page inserts ready for filling. We'll explore pockets and hidden compartments for tucking away little treasures, try our hand at stamping and stencilling, and weave in collage elements like music paper, book paper, lace, and doilies along the way.

We'll also take a little time to talk about the different ways a journal can be kept ~ as a memory keeper, a creative dumping ground, a gratitude practice, or simply a quiet place to gather the small things that matter. There's no single right way, and we'll explore what might suit you.

This session lays the groundwork ~ a follow-up gathering will dive deeper into page techniques and decorating your inserts, for those who'd like to keep building.

This workshop is designed to feel like a creative pause ~ slow, soothing, exploratory, and grounding. Whether you're brand new to journaling or already have a stack of journals on the go, you're welcome here.

📌 Workshop Policy

Minimum class size: 4 participants
Workshops will run once minimum numbers are reached.
If the class doesn’t reach minimum bookings, you’ll be offered the option to transfer your ticket to another workshop date, or upgrade to a private/small-group session instead (price adjusted accordingly).
If neither option suits, a refund will be issued — no stress, no fuss.

Change-of-mind cancellations are totally okay up to 7 days before the workshop and will be refunded in full.

Due to preparation and materials allocated for each participant, bookings cancelled within 7 days are non-refundable.

If I’m able to fill your place, I’m very happy to transfer your booking to a future workshop.
